Philippines: Abu Sayyaf cofounder Madhatta Haipe pleads guilty to kidnapping sentencing Dec. 14th rare case of Terrorist facing US courts

“For roughly 15 years, FBI agents, Justice Department prosecutors and authorities in the Philippines relentlessly pursued this matter on behalf of the victims, who were held hostage and threatened with death by this Abu Sayyaf leader. Philippines: Dizon a ‘Facebook Serial Killer’ murder gone viral in Angeles City

Mark Dizon knew his victims, used a fake dacebook account and may have had more than a jealous revenge streak as a motive in the murder spree in Angeles City, Pampamga. Reports say that the murder suspect a computer technician and programmer who also was a reflexologist therapist.

Philippines: US Navy supply ship rescues five fishermen from the wrath of Basyang

In a US Navy Press Release by Lt. Mike Morley, Commander, Task Force 73 Navy Public Affairs says the US Navy Fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson’s (T-AO 194) crew of civil service mariners rescued five Filipino fishermen from the South China Sea 10 miles off the coast of Luzon, Philippines on July 14. The US Naval vessel John Ericsson’s crew rescued the fishermen nine hours after their boat capsized in rough seas as Typhoon Conson passed over the island of Luzon.

Toll: 26 Dead 26 Missing a total of 30,260 families composed of 151,351 persons were affected by Typhoon Basyang in 408 barangays of 7 cities and 62 municipalities in 12 provinces of Regions III, IV-A, V and NCR
Fifty-four (54) evacuation centers were utilized and provided temporary shelter to 1,946 families or 9,511 persons. As of this report, 1,526 families or 7,545 persons are still inside 37 evacuation centers.

Philippines: “All the right moves” for Pres. Aquino a 88% SWS approval rating

Philippine President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III is “Elated on the trust ratings given to his administration with a high 88 percent trust rating conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS).” reports the Philippine News Agency.
