26 July 2010 No Comment

Mark Dizon knew his victims, used a fake dacebook account and may have had more than a jealous revenge streak as a motive in the murder spree in Angeles City, Pampamga. Reports say that the murder suspect a computer technician and programmer who also was a reflexologist therapist.

Police in the city two hours north of Manila have recovered items from vicitims at local pawn shops that the suspected killed may have taken from the victims himself. Police are also looking into and say it is likely the Dizon may not be working alone. It is believed he has accomplice who may be helping him dispose of gadgets and gizmo’s he took from victims homes.

Police and members of the National Bureau of Investigation’s cyber crimes unit have been mobilized in the hopes of finding the suspect who may still be hunting for more victims possibly among his former clients. Dizon’s helpers might not be aware of his killing spree a police source told reporters covering the story in Pampamga.

The Philippine Manila standard newspaper says , “Dizon used in his Facebook account the alias “Michael Mitchell,” an indication that he had known the victims before the killing took place,”

Police Chief Supt. Arturo Cacdac, regional director in Central Luzon revelaed to the newpaper,

a key witness in the case is per reports. “a pawnshop owner” who positively ID’ed Dizon and tagged him as the man who on, “July 20th  a day before the Mitchell murders took place, Dizon brought to a pawnshop a laptop, cellphone and a Nikon digital camera and sold them for only P20,000.”

Surveillance footage from the stores CCTV camera showed Dizon who police say is the prime suspect entering and leaving the pawnshop police are studying the video to see if Dizon was working alone or with others.  Police had been looking for item taken from a area popular with Ex-Patriates in ‘Balibago where a dual national Canadian and South African Geoffry Allan Bennun was found July 12th along with his live-in partner, Abigael Helina, 20 years old dead both had been shoot execution style.

Aside from the Bennun killing another similar case, involving Englishman James Bolton Porter, a 51-year-old British retiree and his live-partner Marisa Madarang, 22 years  also in Angeles expatriate district of Balibago.

Police forensic ballistic tests showed that the same .9mm pistol used to kill the victims in both cases no word has been released if the same weapon was used in the Mitchell case as well.

Widening scope of manhunt:

Police widening the search beyond the central island of Luzon, Police are stumped a week after the latest attack on foreigners married or living with Filipino’s in a case that continues to make headlines.

Meanwhile Angeles City, local resident foreigners fear the attacks could lead to copycat criminals using the killers methods to cover up crimes which are viewed as a mixture of anger versus foreign men with Philippine women and robberies.  It is not unheard of that robberies and burgleries have happened versus local expatriates in Angeles City and other places.

Police remain focused on Mark Dizon whom they describe as a ‘angry and disgruntled’ young man who lost his long time girlfriend to a foreigner.

But investigators speaking privately see also robbery as the main motive and the man police now say he may be working with others after at each crime scene valuables jewelry and gadgets belonging to the victims now missing are slowly turning up. Police also are checking with relatives of the victims to see if credit cards and debit or bank cards as well have been taken.

Attack on American couple worst killing so far:

In his worst act of rage Mark Dizon is accused of killing five people, Dizon, a computer technician and reflexologist therapist he may have had access to some of his victims using a local version of
criagslist to access his potential victims who called on either his massage services or computer skills.

American Albert Mitchell, 70, was a popular local air force retiree and past president of the local Philippine chapter of the veterans of foreign wars in the Philippines, his wife, Janet Andrenada, 53, and their three domestic helpers last Thursday July 21st.

A news report says,   “It is possible that the suspect wanted some information on the computers that could enable him to transfer bank accounts or get access to the pensions of the foreigners,” city police chief Senior Superintendent Danny Bautista was quoted as saying further that many of items have turned up in local pawn shops are from earlier killings as well as some items that may have been taken in a robbery.
